Why are You Tired?

Many Americans suffer from chronic fatigue. Sometimes fatigue can get so bad we mistake this for depression. In this article I am going to explain some ways that you can make yourself feel less drained.

Have Fun

Many people (like my parents) have a routine that they like to stick to. Routines are not necessarily bad things, but some people need to get out and have a little once in a while; if they don't their brains might get tired of the same old routine. For example imagine watching a T.V. show where you do the same thing every day; not much fun is it? The body and mind respond the same way. Sometimes you have to break your routine to get out of that slump.

Lay Off the Caffeine

When most people look tired they reach for that coffee mug. The caffeine in coffee constricts the blood vessels, and forces you to urinate often. When your blood vessels are dilated your heart is forced to work harder and use more energy. The quick movement of blood through the body is what gives you the quick fix, but since your heart had to use more energy you quickly run out of steam. The urination is most likely caused by your body using up water while it works harder to pump blood. This leads to dehydration. Most Americans do not drink the recommended 84 ounces of water a day. So you drinking coffee just starves your body of more water and this makes you feel tired.

Hydration

This goes back to drinking coffee, which dehydrates your body. Everyone knows that water is the building block of life; if this is true why don't Americans who have access to water get enough. It is not hard to turn on the faucet and grab a glass. Hydrating your body will give you a natural boost of energy, and relax your body. If you do not get enough water your body will have to work harder to keep itself going, resulting in you being wiped out. So people pick up the glass and take a drink.

Remember to Sleep

Most Americans do not get enough sleep. This is the most basic cause of being tired; Most people need eight hours of sleep every night. It is a basic fact that if you don't sleep you will be tired. Sleeping is not just for recharging; sleeping has many other uses as well. Sleeping helps you: regenerate cells, relaxes muscles, and it aids your brain in processing information from your day. Sleeping does you no good if you sleep in short bursts. This does not give your body enough time to heal itself. Remember to always sleep at the same time every night. Your body has a rhythm called the Circadian Rhythm. If you don't go to sleep at relatively the same time every night your body's rhythm will get thrown off, and this will make you tired.

These are the four of the main reasons why you feel tired. If you use these tips you will see an improvement in your sleeping as well as your daily life.

You are right. Often people don't realize the importance of sleep. It is absolutely critical. In our busy lifestyles, we sometimes cut short our sleep. It's hard on the body and the mind.

You made some very good points!
